A daily practice can change your life
Is it just me, or is the world moving too fast these days?
I find myself longing for more peace, solitude, and time to soak.
Maybe it’s part of the nature of being an artist. I’m getting less attached to the world around me and more connected to my Soul.
I believe much of the change in me stems from my practice of journalling, meditation, solo prayer walks and making a conscious decision to block out the noise that is all around me.
Does this resonate with you? Whether you are enjoying the experience of soaking, or you’re craving more time to do it.
I don’t have all the answers, but I will share something that has changed my life profoundly.
A morning practice of contemplation through writing, reading, meditation (prayer), and walking.
It doesn’t have to be fancy or take a long time. My journals are inexpensive notebooks that I save in a binder. My source for reading is the Bible, but whatever you find inspiration from is great. Contemplative prayer and meditation became part of my practice over time, as did my solo prayer walks.
What began about 6 years ago as a 10-minute writing session has grown into something that has enriched my life in more ways than I could ever have imagined!
Journal prompt: What might you consider making a daily practice to enrich your life? If something comes to mind, I’d encourage you to try it for 30 days and see where it leads. Green pastures and still waters are some of the places my practice has taken me, even on the busiest of days.
Blessings and peace to you today my friends.
