LAST WEEK’S ARTIST RESIDENCY & MENTORSHIP IN NARAMATA
I had the privilege of spending 5 days with 11 other artists and our instructor, Suzanne Northcott, at the Sandy Beach resort in Naramata last week. It was an incredibly inspiring, challenging & fun week of hard work (painting & soul-stuff), as well as times to reflect, relax and party just a bit
This experience has been very refreshing, as well as s-t-r-e-t-c-h-i-n-g for me. I’m excited to get back into my studio and explore on a deeper level some of the things that were unveiled for me.
I went with a very open heart – ready to push myself to new levels in my creative expression. My expectations were big, but very open ended …… they were not only met, but exceeded. How awesome is that?! Thanks to Suzanne for her gift of bringing out the ‘deep stuff’ onto canvas. Through your gentle guidance, I was able to find words to articulate some of the things I was stuck on expressing. You are the kind of mentor & instructor I strive to be, and spending a week with you was such a gift! Also thanks to the other amazing artists that shared in this journey with me – I love you all and have so much respect for each of you.
Until we meet again…….
Your friend and sister in art,
