RISING STRONG (BORROWED FROM BRENE BROWN)
It’s a ‘rising strong’ kind of day. Those of you who have read Brene Brown’s book know what I mean.
I was so optimistic that my painting would be selected in the top 10 of over 500 entries submitted for the “New York Artexpo 2016 Official Poster“.
The theme for the poster challenge was “Chroma”. I mediated on and researched the word at length before going to the easel to create my interpretation of it.
This is what I created, and I have to say I am very much in love with it! I just wish the judges could see what an amazing poster it would make
On a positive note, I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of painting something very different. I used palette knives, glorious colours, gel medium for some luscious texture, and it truly was a full-body experience painting a piece that is taller than me (not saying much, I know!).
I’m grateful for the experience, and I expect I will explore this style a little more over time.
In the meantime, it is back to the drawing board – focusing on getting ready for New York in April!
Thanks for sharing in my Rising Strong day.
