TRUE CONFESSIONS (THAT MIGHT BE A BIT EMBARASSING)
When writing a blog post, one is supposed to be genuine, open & honest, so I’m going to jump in with both feet today.
Some of you that know me well know that I have a bit of a whimsical, quirky side to me.
This is Philippe on my easel. I bought him because he made me laugh out loud when I saw him. I bought that necklace for him at the toy store while shopping for my niece & nephew. He got it for Christmas. Philipe is one of my favourite studio companions
There is a series of paintings that I started in New Mexico in the Fall that I have only dared to show to a few select ‘inner circle confidants’. I figured that perhaps I might exhibit them in New York, as they are too bizarre to show anywhere else.
This week I had more fun in my studio then I’ve ever had —– aside from when I was painting my Whimsical series in New Mexico.
One of the 2 pieces I had so much Fun painting this week …
And the 2nd one …
I’m talking full on FUN – like all giggly inside and trembling with joy and never wanting the feeling to go away.
Just now I just had an epiphany in my studio that I need to share this stuff. It’s just way too awesome to keep it to myself. I think I might actually share one or more of the New Mexico series with you soon, but I want to keep you in suspense for just a little bit.
I hope this post will inspire you, my dear friends, to allow yourself the freedom to express that preciously peculiar side of you that might just spread some Joy!
